MSI RX1950 Pro-Series PCI-E video card

Asked by igi

My PC hosts the video card mentioned in the summary.
I have two main issues:
 - the 3d acceleration performance are really low, even if the HW is really good (512 MB video RAM);
 - I cannot make the second video output to work (the first output is wired to the monitor, the second one shall be connected via a wireless connection to my TV.

I know there is no direct support for linux from the HW manufactorer (MSI and/or ATI), and I had no chance to solve described problems with any Ubuntu release I have used so far (Hardy, Jaunty, Karmic, and in few weeks Lucid). All of them are in 32-bit arkitecture (i386). I have tried with "xorg-video" packages and ATI/NVIDIA proprietary drivers.

Does anyone has suggestions and or solutions?

Thank you in advance,

igi

With lucid I can activate and access the second video output, but it looks really bad (black and white with much noise) in any resolution I pick.
