Make USB devices "auto-transfer" into VirtualBox VM (non-free)?

Asked by Jiehan Zheng

Hello,

Currently, to use an USB device inside the VM, I have to check its name in the list.

I want to make them auto available in the VM, once I insert them. I have added those devices into the filter list, but it took no effect.

Thank you!

I suggest you put this on:

http://brainstorm.ubuntu.com

as a feature request.

You could add the /media folder and ~/.gvfs as a "drive" in the virtualboxes config. You can then mount these in the virtualbox's config and the parttions mounted in the folders will be accessible.

Look under the shared folders item in the settings of your virtual system. The app also details how to mount them under Linux. There are guides around for this too

Here is the bit you need:

Can you help with this problem?
