yeah its not a linux thing, its more of a DRM thing, on youtube for instance, there is some content they dont allow people from other countrys to see, i would recommend staying legal and sticking with it, sad though it is i am sorry.

not to worry though as there are a MILLION other streams you can acess from your native Linux desktop for instance in rythmbox you just have to press ctrl+i and add any of the millions of streams out there to the library of stations, here is a site that has a few thousand streams http://www.radiotower.com/

you may also need the medibuntu repo's enabled and restricted extra's ass they have wma streams and mp3 etc, one note on this is that a lot of contant from the UK is only available in the UK as the pra decided to charge more for content outwith the uk so they started to restrict the content.

*** proxy services exist like hidemyass but there is no point when it's so easy to find a stream you want legally- it could just be the deal aol have with the outsourcing compony.

hi sara,,
thanks for reply.. yes i did found plenty radio streams .. other than aol/cbs...
Anyway ,, it is not a big problem.
I am just wondering why it just suddenly remove from linux just few days ago.. i am using it for few months ago..
streaming in aol is smooth so i like it...
funny to think.. they restrict to show it because i am using linux.. if i use laptop w/ pirated windows of my 9 yrs old nephew..there is no restriction as to what we can see here in my country.. philippines..
my question now is ,, the radio stations i found requires a plugins TEXT|HTML decoder which i can not find from synaptic pkg mgr.. even if i installed ubuntu restricted extras.. the plugins are not available too..
medibuntu ? will it be in harmony with ubuntu synaptic pkg mgr ? once i tried some kde softwares and it did not work fine with gnome...?
ok.. thanks again !
