Moonlight 2.0 on Firefox 3.5.7

Asked by Roficimo

I'm trying to watch some videos that require Microsoft Silverlight from the NBC Olympics page. After it asks me to install the Moonlight 2.0 add-on (which I do and restart Firefox as requested) nothing seems to happen. There's no change on the NBC Olympics page and it just keeps asking me to install the Moonlight add-on. What am I missing?

I'd remove it and install from repository (universe).

Looks like 1.0.1 is in the repo:

http://packages.ubuntu.com/jaunty/moonlight-plugin-mozilla
http://packages.ubuntu.com/karmic/moonlight-plugin-mozilla

or you can run:
gksudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

add this line:
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/directhex/ubuntu karmic main

(assuming you use karmic)

Save the new file and close gedit, then run:
sudo apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-keys 23DC003A; sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get install moonlight-plugin-mozilla

Should be fine
