Can PiTiVi capture video from DV or DVD camcorders?

Currently: no, this feature is not yet available. There needs to be someone to come up and implement it, because the core developers are too busy with other bugs or major features.

In the meantime, you can use Kino (or the commandline program "dvgrab") to capture from IEEE1394.
