Terminal install print driver

Asked by Randy Mentor

In follow-up to a previous post about printing... the answer provided suggested printer driver update.

That led to http://support.brother.com/g/b/downloadend.aspx?c=ca&lang=en&prod=mfc7440n_all&os=128&dlid=dlf006893_000&flang=4&type3=625

Unfortunately I get bogged down at the terminal level and tried several variations...

I'm guessing the script is looking for the drivers on your system somewhere, and not finding them. Might be worth a try to install the drivers first using the .deb files provided here, and then run the script:
http://support.brother.com/g/b/downloadlist.aspx?c=ca&lang=en&prod=mfc7440n_all&os=128
(.deb files can be installed via double-click, which will open the Ubuntu Software Centre. From there, install them as you would any other Ubuntu package.)

Can you help with this problem?
