I personal use rsync [1]. You might want to read up on
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BackupYourSystem . Never used a gui
tool for backup but SimpleBackupSuite [2] or Grsync [3] could be worth a
try.

Hi Geny
I apologize for my short comment earlier, based on the reviews I read, deja dup looks promising and stable. Personnaly I have not used it.

Mark, oh that great to hear. I just tried it and you need to be able to back up to a server, not a external hard drive, so I don't think I can use it.

I think you are wrong. A server is the default backup location but you
can select any local folder as the location for your backups.

Deja Dup has a help menu that explains first backups and automatic
backups. Check it out.

Jenny:
I have used Deja Dup a couple of times and it has worked OK for me. But
then again, I usually don't try to back up stuff as I like to live on
the edge.

I live on the edge too, my last back up was over 4 months ago!

I use luckybackup for all my files. It's so easy to setup and use. It's in the repositories...
