He is not translating via Launchpad, since he has no LP account.

He happens to be stated as "Last-Translator" in the upstream PO file:

https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/gstreamer/gstreamer/-/blob/main/subprojects/gst-plugins-good/po/af.po

and that file gets imported to LP when the package builds. That's why LP thinks he is the last translator. But it looks like nobody has added or changed any translations in that file the last 19 years...

Btw, https://translationproject.org is the best place to submit translations for gstreamer and friends, as well as a bunch of other packages.

Remember what I said a while ago about translating upstream at first hand?

I think you misinterpret the situation, and I tried to explain what I think this is about.

Again: HE HAS NO LP ACCOUNT.

But packages, where he is the "last translator" according to the upstream PO file, are updated. If his contributions are bad, you should turn to https://translationproject.org/ and ask to be registered as the coordinator for Afrikaans.
