Ubuntu Translations

It would be useful for ubuntu to be available in manx.

Dear ubuntu,
I recently noticed that Manx Gaelic ("Gaelg" in Manx), is not an available language for your operating system. I and many other speakers would love to make this language available. Please do not hesitate to contact me by email: <email address hidden> or <email address hidden> is my Manx email address. It would make ubuntu unique yet again.

Hi Daniel,
nice to hear from you again. I'm glad you're interested in translating Ubuntu. Although it's not immediately obvious, many of the programmes are actually translated, including things like the media player and other applications. However, Ubuntu has changed quite a lot recently and I haven't kept up with it because I've been busy. If you'd like to do some translation, I'd recommend working on things with "unity" in the name (Unity is the main desktop environment of Ubuntu in case you didn't know). This would mean that even though for the moment we can't install Ubuntu from start to finish in Manx, we can install the Manx language packs after getting ubuntu and then use it in a mostly Manx environment.
