Appointing the Latgalian translation team in Ubuntu

Asked by David Planella

Maris wants to set up the Latgalian Ubuntu translation team. See the forwarded message below for details.

@Maris: Thanks for your interest in translating Ubuntu into Latgalian. You'll need to create an Ubuntu Latgalian translation team before you can start translating. Here is how to do it:

  https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Translations/KnowledgeBase/StartingTeam

Once you've addressed those points, please reply to this support request briefly commenting on them, and we'll be happy to appoint the Latgalian team, so you can start translating straight away.

Feel free to ask for any help here as well, and we'll be more than happy to give you a hand if you need it.

Regards,
David.

Hi!
There are comments on your points:

(./) Check for an existing team.
There isn't already an existing Ubuntu translations team for Latgalian language.
# DONE

(./) Locale, keyboard and fonts.
Latgalian language has a LTG code, keyboard and fonts the same like in Latvian.
# DONE

(./) Launchpad team. Create a new Launchpad team for your language.
      https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-l10n-ltg
# DONE

(./) Moderated subscription.
# DONE

(./) Team information. Add some brief information on the team's page.
# DONE

(./) Team communication.
# WILL BE...

(./) Guidelines. The team should have a set of translation guidelines.
# WE HAVE.

(./) Upstream collaboration.
# THERE ISN'T ANY DIFFERENT UPSTREAM.

(./) Coordinator.
# I AM A COORDINATOR.

Thanks Māris for the reply.

The Launchpad page looks good to me, although it would be good that once the team has been appointed you'd add a communication channel (i.e. a mailing list) and translation guidelines as well. For some translations which are handled specially, I'd recommend creating upstream teams as well. There is more information on upstreams in here [1].

I've now appointed the Latgalian team for the translation of Ubuntu into Latgalian. Could you please take care of the final steps in [1], in the "After the team has been accepted" section?

Happy translating!

Regards,
David.
