install minibuntu on a CF card for use as a micro-pc

Asked by MadJo

I want to put Minibuntu on a CF card that I want to use in a little mini-pc.
But I was wondering, can I install applications while running Minibuntu, and are those changes then kept, or are they lost when you reboot the system?

What I have here is a Fujitsu-Siemens Futro S230, with only a 256MB CF-card, and I want to install a simple smtp server on it for internal use, and a ssh-server, for both being a ssh-proxy server and as a hub into the rest of my network. Is that possible with Minibuntu?

you can install software but if you run on a livecd all the software will be lost on reboot. using a liveusb is different but it depends on how you decide to create the live usb image, you should take a look at "system->administration->create usb startup disk", it will show you the different options :)

Can you help with this problem?
