I have a major complaint. I'm enjoying spending way too much time on this hill. Half of these fools don't even have electricity, then they want to laugh at me because of the nosebleed section I'm sitting in.... Ahhhh, the days of our lives.
You read it, I think you have a slight idea. I would really love to get involved. My career has gone down the hill with the economy, and I'm really excited to do some pro-bono work! I would like to develop for Ubuntu, Debian, or Gentoo. I have read over the massive documents on Ubuntu membership, but it seems like I might need a mentor there.
Do you have any kindness in you that might point me in the right direction as far as meeting someone who might consider to be my mentor? Thank you so much in advance.
One project I'm very interest in is fake-pae, but the opportunity to be involved in any at all would be a treasure, especially a large one like GNOME. I would do ANYtHING to be able to work on the team with the Gnome guys!
PS: I also spend at least 8 hours a day in the IRC rooms, and would even have no problem writing technical documentation. If if helps at all, I wrk professionally as a web developer, LAMP environments preferably, but I have written many backends using Perl, Python, C, and just about anything under the sun!
