Zoom in PDF Reader

Asked by dave

I am hoping to use a Nexus 7 flashed with Ubuntu Touch in the cockpit for checklists, approach plates, and maps. Unfortunately the PDF app currently limits how deeply I can zoom in and read detail especially problematic on a1x2m poster sized PDF air chart.
I understand most users do not want such a deep zoom especially with render time but perhaps there is a .conf file I can edit to set zoom upper and lower limits?

To simplify, is there a .conf file where I can set zoom limits to view detail at 1:1 in poster size PDFs

Hi dave,

Currently there's no way to change the zoom limits in Document Viewer.

We know that the current maximum zoom is pretty low, but there are a few technical issues that don't let us to increment that limit.
Since we've found several troubles in the current implementation (maintainability, convergence and zoom are some of them), we are planning to re-write the current PDF viewer, using a different solution.

We have already discussed some time ago about adding some hidden settings in a .conf file, so I'm sure we'll take account of your request and will add some hidden tweak to increment the zoom limits.

Cheers,

Stefano

Stefano,
That is great news, I really want to stick with Ubuntu as a solution over Android and I appreciate your responsiveness.
this is a mission critical application for me to use Ubuntu.
thanks much,
Dave
