Feedback on the Dell Latitude 7400

Asked by Juan C. Cuevas-Tello

I cannot install Ubuntu 18.04 LTS on a laptop Dell Latitude 7400, because the installer doesn't recognize the internal hard disk, only recognizes the USB stick where I'm installing, this message is sent after the" Keyboard input configuration". The message is sent at "Updates and other software" section, and it says that "you need at least 8.6GB disk space to install Ubuntu".

The laptop is new, I have updated the BIOS already. It starts without problem on Windows 10 Pro, so the hard disk is ok, and its size is 500Gb.

Thanks for your help!

Hi Juan,
Could you please enter the BIOS setting during boot up process by pressing F12

And then please check your "SATA Operation" set as "AHCI" Mode In the "Setting" >> "System configuration" >> "SATA Operation"

I hope this work.
