Shutdown Issue on Dell Inspiron 7559 - i7 6700HQ GTX nVidia 960 M

Asked by SriKrishna

I am new user to ubuntu. I recently got the Dell Inspiron 7559 laptop (with windows 10 Home edition) and tried to install Ubuntu 16.04 . Able to install properly. Had Dual option (windows & ubuntu). While shuttingdown the system, showed error message CPU2 locked 22 seconds and not able to shutdown. After google search , installed nvidia driver 364.19 version. Not able to boot Ubuntu. When booted using recovery mode There is an error message in Graphics. Got into CUI mode and reset the Graphics driver. Now able to boot and login in ubuntu but not able to shut down. Same issues.

Please let me know How Can I solve this. I also tried switching on and off windows security boot (UEFI). Still no luck.
I bought this laptop in UAE So i do have only mem slot for SSD but no memory available.

Hello, I would like to suggest to go to the community (you will find the link in the FAQ linked here), or file a bug with "ubuntu-bug linux" command.

Thanks
