Feedback on the Dell Inspiron N4050

Greetings,

This is the first time I experience the Linux/Ubuntu OS.
My dell inspiron N4050 is currently showing cd/dvd drive problems. If I try to copy a cd, files are downloaded very slowly and are even not recognized by the file browser or by the rhythmbox music player , and if a try to copy files from a dvd-r, it starts to download them, but it suddenly stops.
Note that I am now running a 10.04 LTS, and have formated the previously 10.10 version, so I'm doing my best trying to configure my computer.
Need help, please.

Hello Marcelo,

Your system is currently only certified with 11.04, or 10.10 if it came pre-installed.

My suggestion would be to download Ubuntu 11.04 [1] and give it a try.
