Feedback on the Lenovo

On the Ubuntu certified hardware list, many Lenovo systems are listed as certified (Pre-installed). There does not appear to be a way to get this pre-installed version of Ubuntu.
I think these systems either need to be removed or some mechanism for allowing people to access these versions be enacted.
I don't think there is any point listing these system as certified when no method for installing exists.

Hi Peter,

The fact is that in some regions of the world there are Lenovo systems available to buy from Lenovo with the stated versions of Ubuntu pre-installed. Unfortunately the note makes it sound like you can get the image from them. In some rare cases this may be the case, but we haven't come across one. The note is being clarified to make clear what I just told you. The systems aren't going to be removed, as the fact is they are certified with a pre-installed version of Ubuntu.

By what I can tell the X220T can install Ubuntu. What I will do is detail any customization required in the Ubuntu hardware forums to aid anybody looking to install Ubuntu on this system.

Hi Peter,

We'd be very grateful for that! It's worth noting as well that it may be worth trying 11.04 (if you aren't already) as it's more likely that any fixes the X220T needed will be in there.
