Dell-XPS-M1330 9.10, 10.04 and 10.10 Certification

Asked by Amber Graner

I read Victor Palau's Blog post (http://victorpalau.wordpress.com/2010/12/09/ubuntu-certification-101/) on Ubuntu Certification and want to see if my Dell XPS M1330 was certified for the release I am currently running. (Ubuntu 10.10).

I am asking the following questions per the instructions listed in the "How can you contribute to this initiative?" section of the blog post.

1) I wanted to know if it was and just isn't listed and or 2) If it isn't certified yet what can I as an end user do, if anything, to help test and see if it is certified.

Thanks in advance!

:-) Amber

Hi Amber,

We still have the HW in our labs and we did test it for certification for 10.10. However, it seems that the system failed certification. As far as I can tell from the results there were some network related problems , and suspend did not work and a bug was open for it.

Does Suspend work in your system?

Not like it is supposed to. However, I just restart the thing when it
hangs and go on with life. I'll get you some more information on this
today or tomorrow if you would like?

Just me Amber.

There are lots of Linux users who don't care how the kernel works, but
only want to use it. That is a tribute to how good Linux is.
