installation virtualbox & turnkey wordpress on remote server/external host
I do not want to install virtualbox/turnkey wordpress on my home computer, but on my web host's server. I love 98% of everything about the host and do not wish to move. However, they have their own blog module that I hate. Have been using Wordpress for my blog for years and would like to now integrate it with my business site on the same host, using all the other things I love about the host.
Am not able to upload/install Wordpress directly as I have no access on this host to any databases and because the host runs php to serve my site, they don't want Wordpress on there as it may interfere. Installing to virtualbox seems like an ideal solution.
Do you agree? What do I need to do differently from existing instructions in installing virtualbox? For starters - I don't even know how I would get Virtualbox running after uploading to remote host. I don't know if it is linux (it would have to be wouldn't it? Big global host?) or what version.
But I do know I need to get Wordpress working on it. Would you have another suggestion rather than installing virtualbox/turnkey wordpress?
Many thanks.
