New install fails on dhcp

Asked by Chip W

Just downloaded drupal software appliance, burned it to a cd and started the install. The install fails when it can't get a dhcp server connection. My home network uses static ip addresses and I have the dhcp server turned off in my linksys router. Is there a way to tell it to not use DHCP?

I don't think so, you must renable the DHCP on your router
Also try to connect via Ethernet and not wifi.

Shoot, hit that button by accident. If I temporarily enable dhcp on the router, after the setup is complete, I will have to turn it off again. Is there a setup option somewhere in this version of linux to assign a static ip address?

The install process does not require a valid network configuration, so you can safely ignore the error message.
This is a known issue and should be fixed in our upcoming releases.

Side note: You could always boot live, use the confconsole to set a static ip, then choose install.
