Is there any plan to implement a tomdroid widget?

It would be nice to be able to always see and do basic operation on the notes from without launching the app.

Not yet. We just implemented two-way-sync and android 4.0+ support. At first we have to get this bugfree before we can start doing something else.
However, I already thought of a widget - at some point it might become reality!
Until then you could use shortcuts to your note - this is then just one more click/tap :-)
