Just wondering if Latex Math is going to be supported in the near future, as many of my notes have equations in them.

Not in the near future, all the maintainers are pretty short on time. Maybe if some superhero (could be you ;-) ) comes with an implementation, but not guaranteed as it would most likely require bundling another library.

thanks for the speedy reply, well, might have some free time in February, I will take a look and see if I am up to the task. Even then I cannot make any promises but I will look into it.
