Which format for the modified date

Hello

I see in the code that the format for modified date is short (10.19.10)
For me I prefer Medium format (Oct 19, 2010)
Another format is Long (October 19, 2010) or Full (Tuesday, October 19, 2010)

Is it a choice to set up to short format ?
I think it must be define in preference.

I'm not a fan of having a lot of preferences for minor things like this.. but if you are willing to develop a preference for it, then I would hide it under Advanced.

Is there a global android setting we can detect? Preferred date format or something that would cover the options you mentioned.
