Can I split a terminal and run a command in the split

Asked by statquant

I recently learnt about remotinator that should allow me to split a terminal from the command line.
$) remotinator vsplit
Problem is that I'd like to run a command in the said terminal like when I do
$) terminator -e '/some cmd/'
It looks like it is not possible, is there a way to do this ?
A few terminals like tilix allow the user to do this

Hmmm. No. This is something that could be added to the remotinator command. Frankly the remotinator command could be used to completely drive Terminator from a script. It would just need someone with the time to expand the existing commands.

Yes, you just raise a bug, and someone (me most likely) will set it to a wishlist item. You can even use the "Create bug report" link on this very page to link the question.

Can you help with this problem?

Provide an answer of your own, or ask statquant for more information if necessary.
