Paypal contribution

Asked by Ed

After using Terminator for a several months now, as it has become my favorite and go-to terminal, I've noticed that updates don't come that often.
So that this project stays alive and Terminator lives on forever, do you have a way for users to contribute monetarily to the project?
I don't have a lot of money but I would make an effort to send money to the project when I can and as often as I can since I love and use the Terminator terminal.

Hi Ed, the truth is that while the idea of donations is nice, for me at least they are ridiculously unlikely to let me quit my day job and devote myself to Terminator :-)

Then you get questions of who gets the money, and tax, and all that sort of thing that I personally would not want to get bogged down in.

If people wanted to use one of those coding bounty sites to try and fund particular features I would not have any philosophical problem with that. I think that that would be more effective for targeted specific features that people want but no-one is picking up.

There's several ways users can directly help Terminator:

  * Help answer questions in Answers!
  * Contribute documentation or translations of documentation
  * Help people reporting bugs in the Bugs tracker
  * Promote use of Terminator to others
  * Send patches for reported bugs

If none of those are feasible for you, and you definitely do want to contribute money, either use a bounty site as Stephen suggested, or donate it to the EFF in Terminator's name.

Can you help with this problem?

Provide an answer of your own, or ask Ed for more information if necessary.
