CPU usage stays high while TaskCoach is runnng.

System: Ubuntu 14.04 (Linux Mint 17)
Desktop: KDE4
TaskCoach 1.4.2
As soon as I launch TaskCoach, it takes over a CPU core and doesn't let go, resulting in a jump in core temperature as well.
All I've done so far is tweak the preferences, I'm evaluating it and it seems to have what I need, but I can't use it because of the high CPU usage.
I can provide additional info if needed and/or create a bug report if it's a bug.
