How systemback support cross machine issues?

Asked by Muhammad Ali Nayeem

I'm looking for a tool to remaster a ubuntu server where Koha and Dspace are installed and configured extensively. My plan is to use the resultant live system as a backup or emergency copy so that in case of server crash I wouldn't have to configure Koha and Dspace again. I think that systemback can be a great solution for me. But my concern is, can I install the systemback generated live iso into a different machine? If yes, please let me know how does systemback install device drivers for the different hardwares of the new machine?

You can use an installed Linux system with two or more machines. If you do not use any hardware specific drivers or/and settings, the created Live will be most compatible (like the official Ubuntu installer). And if you want to create a separated system (used with the original at the same time), just use the "System install" function instead of the "System copy" (because some settings, like machine ID).

Where can I found the detailed differences between "System install" and "System copy"?

Just click on the "System install" and the "System copy" buttons and see the differences.
