Mint 17.2 back to 17.1

I did a system restore point on my Mint 17.1 Cinnamon and then upgraded to 17.2.

Afterwards I had a problem with my HDMI sound to TV. Should I be able to use my restore point to go back to Mint 17.1 please?

Yes (if the previous restore point exist), this is one of the main purposes of the restore points (restore the system to the previous state).
