logitech 3200 mx choppy
Hi. It seems recently, within the last week or two, I have started seeing a strange issue with my mouse and keyboard. I have a System76 Wild Dog with a Logitech 3200 MX. I'm on the latest version of Ubuntu, with all updates installed, and am still using Gnome as it was originally installed.
What's happening is that I'll be using my computer for a while with no issues, but then if I go away for an hour or more and return, both the mouse and keyboard perform horribly. Its more noticeable with the mouse. Instead of the pointer moving nice and smooth like it usually does, it moves choppy and jerky and doesn't feel like it keeps up with the mouse movements. The keyboard also seems to fall behind on the keystrokes, and occasionally misses key presses.
I thought it might be some issue with the screen saver or power management settings, but I tried disabling both of those and it still happens.
Also, I tried with another mouse that I have and it seems to work fine. Its just a cheapo USB wired mouse. It moves smooth, but the logitech still moves choppy.
Another weird aspect of this is that if I reboot everything starts working fine again. Its doesn't seem to happen again unless I go away for about an hour or more and then return. It only fixes it if I reboot. Its still choppy if I just logoff / logon.
I've checked the CPU load and its basically at 0 % (fully idle) and I have plenty of memory free. As far as I can tell, the computer is basically running fine except the mouse and keyboard are acting funny.
Ever seen this before, or have any suggestions on what may fix it?
Thanks,
