When minimized, windows cannot be recalled

Hi all,
My wife used my 7.1 system for about 5 minutes today and now when I minimize a window I cannot find a way to recall it. If I minimize the email window it vanishes with no way to get it back. Ditto for the FireFox window. The only way to get it back is to relaunch the app which is a pain.
How can I fix this?

If it does not show up on your lower panel, right click your lower panel and then select "Add to Panel". Scroll down to "Window List" and select it. Then click "Add".

Hi,
Right clicking the lower panel does not produce a result.

First, make sure you are clicking it with your right mouse button and not the left one. The left one will not produce a result, but the right one should produce a sub-menu that allows you to follow my instructions above.

If you are definitely clicking the right one, please email me a screenshot of your desktop (Application > Accessories > Take Screenshot). Send it to support(at)system76(dot)com.

Hi, your help sort of solved my problem. I finally found the correct menu but it wasn't where you had indicated. I then tried to follow the instructions from that point but the results were very different then expected. But I now have window recall buttons at the TOP of the screen instead of at the bottom. I can find no way to move them but at least I am in business. It is taking some getting used to but it works. So yes, my problem is solved and I can recall minimized windows.

Good work. Please email me a screenshot of your current setup. I may be able to offer suggestions about how to move the window selector back to the bottom of the screen. But I'd like to have a look at your Desktop first.

Hi!
Here is a screenshot. Notice everything is on top. No way I can figure
out how to put anything on the bottom. But it works!

Thanks, John. I got it.

Please follow these directions.

1. Right click on your upper toolbar and select "New Panel" in the submenu. This will cause a toolbar to appear on the bottom of your screen.
2. Right click on the toolbar that appeared on the bottom of your screen and then select "Add to Panel" in the submenu. In the resulting window, scroll down to "Window List" and add it to the panel.
