Cannot Download Upgrade

Hi, I purchased a System 76 desktop system. It came with Feisty Fawn. It works great and I love it. But I have tried at least 30 times to download the upgrade to 7.1 and I always get errors. It can't find a couple of files. Is it possible to buy a DVD or CD with the 7.1 upgrade? I am not a UNIX programmer. Just a happy refugee from Windoz. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi John,

Are you trying to download through the System Updates application within the OS? If so you can download the cd image instead and burn it to a disk. You can then upgrade by inserting the disk.

7.10 disk images are available here:
http://releases.ubuntu.com/7.10/

Also, Ubuntu is now up to 8.04 Hardy Heron. After upgrading the 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon you can upgrade to the next version 8.04. We're happy to help you through the process too.

If you have any trouble downloading the disk image we can burn and mail you a CD.
