gazv5, 8.04, evolution won't send or receive

I also use Evolution with my gmail, and it is working well for me. Are you getting any errors? What are you seeing?

Also, if you're trying to send test messages back and forth from the same gmail account, it may not work. Sometimes that seems to confuse evolution, or gmail, or something. Try sending to and receiving from a completely different email address.

Trying to get evolution to send/receive as it has prior to today.

I upgraded to hardy heron some time back, ran the system76 driver, have installed all updates since. Today I can not send or receive email from evolution. Yesterday I could. I have double-checked all settings in evolution today for my gmail account (it is only account in evolution); they are as originally set up. Ideas?

Hi Chris,

Does any error message pop up in Evolution? Generally email send and receive problems are due to either:

1.) email server down (happens occasionally with gmail)
2.) internet connection problem (Some ISP block SMTP port 25 so you have to change the outgoing port to 5190 or something else - this is sending only)
3.) settings (username, password, outgoing and incoming server)
