Problem with sound panp5 ubuntu 10.10
I have not been able to hear sound out of my laptop speakers or headphones. I hear the drum sound when the login screen loads up, but after starting gnome I do not get sound when I set the hardware to "Digital Stereo (IEC958) Output + Analog Stereo Input". I do hear sound when I set it to Digital Stereo (HDMI) Output and connect a speaker system to the HDMI output. I have checked alasmixer to ensure that nothing is muted, I have also done the System 76 restore system, and upgraded to ubuntu 10.10 (I initially had this problem with 10.04).
aplay -l gives
