cannot enter my password, when I type the o the circle appears and then disapears at the password prompt. what can I do?

Asked by mattb

I am having problems with one of the keys on my keyboard. The computer is barely 3 months old, so it is still like new, but the o key is working funny.

Yesterday after logging in the o key was working funny. It was working when I logged in because there are two o's in my password. I was trying to type shelton and it would type the o, but then the o would disappear as if backspace were pressed.

After that I logged off and the same problem is happening at the login prompt.

The key seems to work because when I press the o key I see a circle appear in the password field, but then it immediately gets erased. I haven't tried every key, but it is definitely happening with the o key.

If I hold the o key after about a second it acts like a backspace and all the characters of password I entered before it are removed.

Is there something I can do? or do have to ship this back for service?

The first step to take is to blow out your keyboard as best you can with canned air. If that doesn't solve the problem, please contact us directly at support...at...system76...dot...com. We may need to replace your keyboard.

Can you help with this problem?
