Set Date and Time

I am having an issue that when I open Stellarium it ALWAYS starts at the same date, same time every time I open Stellarium, that being 2020-11-07 1:38:00

The clock starts running at 1:38:00
I have pressed F5 and corrected the date and time shown and it corrects the time and date in lower left corner of screen.
When I close Stellarium then re-open Stellarium it is again back at 20020-11-07 1:38

What can I do to correct this problem?

Yesterday I downloaded the latest version of Stellarium 0.20.3 or 1.2.2

I am running Windows 10 64bit on my desktop

Thank you for suggesting F2. When I press F2 and change the time from within the F2 key I do not see any change on the screen at all going from night time to day time on screen, when the actual time is daytime like now. The time shown in the lower left corner does NOT change when I use the F2 key.

Also when in the F2 screen, clicking on "System date and time" or clicking on "System date" DOES NOT change anything to what the date/time is on my computer screen.

When I change the time using the F5 key, then the screen does change from night time to day time. The time shown in the lower left corner DOES change when using the F5 key.

I still have the same problem when I close Stellarium, then re-open Stellarium it reverts back to November 11, 2020 at 1:38AM

This is so weird!

You are changes settings, which names as "Startup date and time" - why you expect immediately changes for date and time?

You are configure Stellarium to set defined date and time at startup and now he set this date and time at startup - why you expect other behavior?

I have also tried using the F2 key stroke, then clicking on the "Time" tab then clicking on the "System date and time" and then clicking on the "X" in top right corner.

That also does NOT correct my date or time.

My computer time is correct at 12/9/2020 with time at 1:37AM and still counting

My "Stellarium" date and time shows 2020-11-07 with time at 2:09AM and still counting.

Do you have any other suggestions for me to try?

My "Time correction" within Stellarium is set at Espenak & Meeus (2006)

I have no idea if this is correct or not for being in the USA

Again when I close Stellarium and then re-open Stellarium it always reverts back to 2020--11-07 at 1:38AM

Apparently you did not read Stellarium User Guide (paragraph 4.3.1). If you want to save changes for using in next startup then you need save those changes into configuration file. Probably for your case: F2 -> Time -> "System date and time"; -> Main -> "Save settings"

Because you did not saved changes in configuration file.

When ever I would press F2, click on the "Time" tab, then click on "System date and time" the date and time in Stellarium from my computer never changed. So if it does not change anything then why bother saving that when there was no change?

Today I tried something a bit different. I clicked on the F5 key and changed the date and time in there. Doing that DOES change the date and time in real life. After changing the date and time this way, then I went back and pressed F2. From here I did save the date and time by pressing "Save settings"

I closed Stellarium, then re-opened Stellarium and found that YES it did save my new date and time.
