Increasing luminosity of conjunction

Asked by Scott Christie

I have a script that shows the conjunction of Jupiter and Venus June 17 2 BC. When the two planets are in conjunction, you really don't see an increase in luminosity as you would expect. Is there a way in Stellarium to show this? Thanks

You can show text on the screen with the values of "luminosity" by planets (e.g. apparent magnitude).

Actually I wanted to two stars in conjunction to illuminate more than just
the one which is in front of the other. Is there a way to do this? thanks

Yes. I wanted to know how when to planets are in conjunction the
appearance shows up as brighter than just the one planet that is in front
of the other.

Are you have any skill in astronomy?

What kind of luminosity increase do you expect, and why? They are both planets which just passed each other visually as seen from Earth.

Can you help with this problem?
