Replay Gain Support?

How does replay gain work when converting from replay-gain tagged flacs to mp3s?

As far as I can tell, the per-album replay gain information is used to modify the sound data before being encoded to an mp3 file?

Would it be possible to give the use the option to use per-track replay gain information instead of per-album?

+1 SoundKonverter can do this, but honestly I don’t want to install the whole KDE library.

I never tested replay gain with SoundConverter, but I'm pretty sure the sound data is not modified.

IIRC, the goal of replay gain was to add volume information into metadata, to adjust the volume while playing. But the sound data itself should not change.

Replay gain is something I want to add in the future. But only the metadata generation part. The volume adjustement must be done by the player.

Of course, Replaygain doesn’t change anything but two metadata tags.

Normalization is done to 89dB.
There are existing libraries/programs that can do this, e.g. mp3gain, metaflac or the Python Audio Tools (http://audiotools.sourceforge.net/)
