Last time i tried, software center didn't show QEWB2 as already purchased!!!

Did you check the email address you used when you purchased? qnewb is a JAVA application. I think pablo software will send you a link to download. Mine went straight to my SPAM folder. You can reach their support at: <email address hidden>

A few things you need to know.
qnewb2 is a JAVA application, so I guess when you get it, if it doesn't work you need to make sure you have java installed.

I hope you tested the trial version before you paid for it. It is very buggy. On Mint 16 KDE I can create a page, add a heading and position it, and resize and colour the text, but once I click somewhere else on the page I cannot go back and edit the text.

Every time I want to change text, I have to close the program, restart it and open the project again. So save often, or you may lose your work.

It may not happen on your version of Linux. qnewb2 has lots and lots of features, but many of them are not working on my Linux Mint 16.

When the program does work, the bits that work are good. Just very, very buggy.

Have fun. I am sure it will improve, and maybe it works better on your version of Linux. I will continue playing with it just for fun.

Everything you need is in that file/

Make a new folder ( in your home folder is a good place) and give it a name
you remember.
WARNING - if you don;t make a new folder, if you just unpack it where you
downloaded it - you will have lots of new folders (18) and files (9) mixed
up with whatever else was already there.

Copy or move the zip file (mine is called qnewb2_linux.zip) to the new
folder and extract it. With most versions of linux you can right click the
file and choose 'extract here' - just like Windows.

That's it. you shouldn't even need to change file permissions. Just look
for a file called qnewb (with no extension) and click that, then wait.

Right next to that file will be another called qnewb.pdf
Open the PDF and look at the first pages. It will guide you through the
basics.

It is worth reading through the index first to get an idea of what is in
the manual. Then scroll through and read from page 6 to about page 14
before you even think of starting a web page.

Keep the manual open for reference and a quick look at the index will find
lots of exciting stuff you can do with it. I have had a few odd things
happen, but there is a good forum you can join and I can assure you the
program author/developer is very, very helpful and involved with making
sure people get a good experience from his software.

Don;t worry too much because you paid for the program. It can do a lot of
things. I am still exploring it and have found although it doesn't like my
computer very much, most of the problems seem to be caused my me!

Don't worry about being a newbie. I have been using Linux almost since it
was first released, and I learn something about it every day. I'm not a
Linux expert or geek. Just someone who uses it for everything,

Sorry to tell you this, Ross, but that was what I had done, once the USC gave problems.
I got precisely the same package of files and the same happened with the qnewb file when I clicked: nothing.
And the pdf manual says nothig about installation...
I'm lost; that's why I went to a manual installation process and found all those problems with sources lists and that stuff.
Any other suggestion?

sudo apt-get install libgtk2.0-0:i386

And then, it worked!

My problem now is that I wanted to edit a web already built by someone else.
I thougth it was built with QAEWB, but it wasn't; it was made with WYSIWYG web builder (also by Pablo Solutions). However, the latter works only in Windows, not in Linux. And formats are dislike (qwb the former, wbs the latter).
Do you know of any translator?

Hi Manuel,

If it is just one web page, all I can think as an easy way, is open the web
page in Firefox, and go to File > Save page As > Web Page, Complete.

Choose a place to save it and make a folder to put it in and save.
If it is a site with several pages, you will have to repeat for each page.

That way you will have each page as a html file and a separate folder with
all its images and stuff for every page.

Then you can open each file separately and edit it. With any luck the HTML
will be almost the same as QNEWB.

It is what I would do and is worth a try :)
