Content Archiving with Silva

Asked by sthumuluri

Hi, I am looking to evaluate Silva CMS for our Enterprise use, wanted to know if Silva has Content Archiving capabilities? We will need to store previously approved versions of content available for our end-users. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Sai

Hi,

Silva stores all approved versions, but by default older versions are not exposed to end users, only to authors and editors, so they can roll back and/or compare. I'm sure functionality could be built in an extension to expose older versions though.

There is also a third-party extension I've developed, which exposes old versions to the public view, and makes them navigable. It's in my SilvaWikiToolbar product, available here: http://zope.org/Members/aaltepet/SilvaWikiToolbar Currently old versions are only exposed to authenticated users, but it could be adapted to allow this for anonymous users as well.
