Copy and paste of shadowed screeshots creates gray borders instead

Asked by Ted

The hard shadow plugin works great when saving to a png file and inserting that png into programs that allow the inserting of images but is there a way to just copy and paste the shadowed shutter image into a document? For example, if I copy and paste a shadowed screenshot from shutter into OpenOffice Draw all I get is the image with a gray border around it. The same thing happens with other plugins that create transparent borders for the effect.

I can reproduce the behaviour you've described (with LibreOffice for example) but I don't think this is something we can fix. It work s great if I paste the image to GIMP for example.

Can you help with this problem?
