How can I keep Scribes up to date on Ubuntu?

Loving Scribes, as always :)

Since the Ubuntu PPA is old and broken, what is the best method for keeping Scribes up to date across my Ubuntu computers?

The options I see are:

(1) Re-download the official package each time from http://scribes.sourceforge.net/download.html
(2) Use the bzr instructions to follow the development branch.

If the answer is (1), are there any special steps I need to take when repeating the process for a newer build?

If the answer is (2), is there a way to "update" Scribes if it has already been installed from bzr?

Thinking about it further, I guess the bzr command results in getting the same files (just a newer version) just as the main download link provides you with in a compressed file.

As far as I know, the Ubuntu PPA is up to date. You might have to remove scribes and then install it again to get the latest version. But the bzr branch is now linked to the PPA.

Perfect, I did that and got:
Scribes Version: 0.4-dev-build985

By any chance, could you please update the blog post to remove the note on the PPA being old and broken?

Oooh, I think I now understand: it's the built-in repo that is old, but the PPA does give the latest version. Sorry for this misunderstanding (I've understood incorrectly for several months :) )
