Why a dependences to Python 2.6?

Asked by Grek-336

I will use Screenkey (with the deb package) for Hardy.

But it have a dependence to python 2.6.

When I use the tar.gz archive it works.

I think the dependence to python 2.6 can be change to python 2.5.

Hi Grek,
I defined python 2.6 as a dependence because i had it installed in my distro (Ubuntu Lucid) by default and I was not sure if it worked also in other distributions with other versions of Python.
I could define python 2.5 as dependence but i don't know if it also works on other architectures (x86-64, powerppc, etc). I think we need to confirm it before making the change.

Thanks for using and ask about Screenkey!

I have test the tar.gz archiv with a clean installation from a 8.04.1 amd64 in a VirtualBox-VM. It works.

Ok, then I'll change that dependence in the next release.
Thanks Grek for test it and for making Screenkey available to more people.

Hi Grek,

I've released a new debian package with python-2.5 as dependence, you can download it from https://launchpad.net/screenkey/+download

Can you help with this problem?
