School Export not working

Your imports are definitely confusing the system (that is, managing to not actually generate an error and hanging in some way), and it is possible the event system is waiting for your import to complete before scheduling any more asynchronous events. If you restart the server that might help.

I have re-booted just SchoolTool no difference...
I have re-booted the server. In the process updated to the latest and greatest ad-ons and extensions of ubuntu.

All to no difference...

You should nuke the database (/var/lib/schooltool/Data.fs) at this point.

Hi Tom
moved the Data.fs to Data_BackUp.fs then did a reboot of server.
Did a minimal set up of SchoolTool and imported the file with only the 196 Student names.
This looks like it is doing it but I can not find the students...
What am I missing.

needed serial numbers, that in turn needed the numbers generated and filled with leading zeros,
fixed all that

next stop the contacts...

After all that just tried the export again. Same scenario.
The process starts but never gets to an end?

How far into the process does it get? Do you get the dialog? Do you get any progress bars?

Hi all

I need to import the student with 10 additional attributes.

For what I understand it is best to set up the attributes in SchoolTool, export a file and use this a template.

As you see I got massive problems to export even the base setting.

I have to report back to the parent committee this following Saturday.
I tried to sell SchoolTool as the solution for our DB. Not looking good at this point in time...

Can anybody help me to get this over the line?

Have you ever been able to do an export? With a completely fresh instance? After only setting up the demographics?

no, never worked

Let me see if I have this straight:

- we couldn't find anything apparently out of order from the troubleshooting steps: http://book.schooltool.org/troubleshooting.html
- you DID eventually get an import to work?
- you've never gotten an export to work

YES Import is now working
The export still goes into a never ending spinn. NOT working.
