How to unhide the gradebook columns for average/total?

One of our teachers accidentally hid the average/total column by selecting the option Hide instead of one of the sort options on the dropdown menu which is shown when clicking at the top of the average column.

How does the teacher get the total and average column back? These columns have disappeared only from their profile and for all of their gradebooks which makes filling in a report card very hard without the summary column.

Click on First name column heading, a popup will appear. Choose Show Ave./Show Tot. to show those column.

Somehow we did not think to look there for the unhide option. We focused our attention at the right of the page and there did not seem to be any button that would help us. I also could not find the answer in the online manual so either I over looked it or the solution needs to be more clearly identified.

Yes... it needs to be fixed. In the past couple years a little gear icon has become pretty standard on web apps for miscellaneous settings, so we'll probably add a gear to the gradebook.
