Accessing SchoolTool from Other Computers

Asked by furby

I'm sure this is a simple question but I'm following these instructions http://book.schooltool.org/remote.html#remote

I got to editing the host name but how do I save my edit? I can't for the life of me figure out the command. It just seems to lock up and I can't do anything.

If it makes a difference I am running the latest Ubuntu Server as a VM on OS X 10.7.4 Server

"vim" is just a text editor, you do not need to use it to edit a text file. Graphical program "gedit", a simple editor "nano" (that shows possible commands at the bottom of the screen), or any other editor can be used instead.

To save file and quit vim, press Esc, then type :wq and Enter.

nano command worked perfect. Thanks

Might be nice to have that in the instructions.
