Problem storing two user profiles in the same samba share

Asked by Joan F. Alonso

Hello everybody,

I have been using Simple Backup with only a default profile without any issues, storing the backups in a samba share. I am using Kubuntu 10.10.

Today I've tried to add a new profile, instead of adding new folders to the default one. When the backup process starts, the default profile runs flawlessly, but the second one complains about not being able to find the specified target directory. The destination is a different folder on the same samba share, and it works if it is used as destination of the default profile.

Is this behavior normal? Do I have to file a bug or is this something already known?

Thanks!!

Thank you for using SBackup and for taking the time reporting this issue.

I summarize your situation:
* you use a samba share
* there a two directories on this samba share
* each of these directories is set as destination of a profile
* the default profile works
* the second profile complains about not being able to find the specified destination.
* if you set the second profile as default one (rather its settings) it works again

Is this correct? At first glance, sounds like a bug to me. Please provide some more information. Thanks for your help.

Thank you for your response!

Your summary is correct. The main problem is that I can use only one profile with destination set to the samba share.
If I use those two profiles with different destinations (for example two local folders, or a local folder and a folder inside the samba share) everything runs fine.

Please tell me what kind of additional information do you need.

Thanks again! Happy New Year!!!

Well I experience the same Problem over plain FTP : Can't Open the connection for the second profile while dhe default is OK.

Hope this can be treated. Thanks for this tool.

Can you help with this problem?
