White flash when opening sakura

Asked by James Cook

When I open Sakura up, until the VTE component is drawn there's a white (grey?) rectangle drawn which, on a big monitor, is like a camera flash going off. Is there any way to get Sakura to instead use black?

Actually it also flashes on repaint - I used shakycam to record me switching desktops in I3:

Is white. Right now is needed, but there are some gtk functions related to colors that are deprecated and i need to remove them. When i do that i'll check again if the white flickering can be removed.
