w is Internationalization and localization thought for the project ?

Hi

I am new to programming, so, Would be a easy thing to do ?
Is it like runing a script to extract all the phrases, then translating those and putting it back ?

I apologise, I didn't see this question.

The translation of a software project is commonly referred to as language localisation, or L10n for short.

Retromod is not set up for localisation, so to answer your question, yes that is essentially what you need to do, but it isn't necessarily easy. We can't really just run a script. Rather every line of code needs to be inspected for a text string that may be displayed to the user. We then need to put all of those strings into a location where they can be referenced back to their proper locations. Then we need to create a switch so that we can change the language from English to e.g. Portuguese. Then finally, every bit of text needs to be translated.

So, it's not "easy", but it is certainly not impossible. I would be happy assist with adding localisation to the Retromod core codebase.
