Highlight and Copy a few lines of text

Asked by Mark

Hi,

I've been using 0.4.12.

When viewing a PDF, it is sometimes useful to be able to clipboard a portion of the text. I haven't been able to do this. Maybe I'm missing something, if not please consider for a future rev.

Thanks!!

Mark

Hi Mark,

Maybe if you want to select a small area of text you can do the following

EDIT - COPY TO CLIPBOARD - AND WHEN THE PLUS SIGN APPEARS YOU CAN SELECT THE TEXT YOU WANT AND IN THE CONTEXT MENU SELECT YOUR PREFERRED OPTION.

Is it also possible to highlight text with qpdfview?

It is a unintuitive and error-prone to select text with a rectangular box in my opinion.

Hello iBart,

it is possible to add highlight annotations, i.e. add a colored background that can also carry some comment using the annotation tool. If you just mean caret-based text selection, then this is not yet implemented. I'll link the related long-standing bug report to this question for more details...

Best regards, Adam.
