qpdfview

duration time of note popup

When i write an annotation to read it i put the mouse over the annotation and a popup appear.
This popup has a very short duration time (2-3 sec). Is this a bug or have i to do something inside the Qpdfview options?

Hello Paolo,

The pop-up is just tool tip giving you a quick glance at the content of the annotation. (Hence, its duration is the system default for tool tips.)

If you really want to read and possible change it, left-clicking it should open a small modal dialog (which you used to create it in the first place) which won't close until you press the Escape key or click somewhere else. (The tool tip is just for peeking at the annotation so to speak.)

The strange thing is that with Evince the tooltip disappear only if i move the mouse but with Qpdfview it disappear after few seconds...

I don't know how Evince handles the pop-ups and whether they are actually implemented as tool tips there. They also use GTK instead of Qt. So some differences in handling those windowing tasks are to be expected.
